Content is king. This is the most common belief about the Internet, but if content is king, what then about search and the role that it plays? People go on the Internet for information about ____________; you can fill in the blank. If, content is king, what role does search play in the pursuit of information? Find out why this integral piece of the Internet matters.

Search may not be king, but it is the God of the Internet in that it commands a huge amount of power as to what information gets returned in its search engine results page. Among the Internet are the billions of pages that are indexed by the search engines and those who create those pages, such as bloggers, web site owners, content management platforms like WordPress, Drupal and Joomla and the content originators such as Associated Content and at the top of all of these are the search engines such as Google, Baidu, Yahoo and Bing, are plying for your attention and loyalty.

Compelling and interesting content will always be king on the Internet and the search engines will always be the gods of the Internet, deciding which content is worthy to be displayed and when. User generated content will always be in demand so long as it is relevant and others can garnish the information that they are looking for from it.

Search engines are gods, not only because they decide what information is relevant for each search term but also because they are compensated on the basis of conversions of their text and image ads. Some search engines do better than others, but all search engines ultimately decide what gets displayed or returned in their search results.

In the daunting content creation and content management process in order to produce web content, just concentrate on giving your audience what they need to know about what they want to know and throw a few insights or tips to make it interesting. Remember, you are building a relationship with your visitors. Those visitors who choose to interact with you by commenting, depending upon their experience may tell others about their positive experience or useful information and that could be the seed for your site to go viral.

Blogging is no easier than maintaining any web site and for many of us, it’s a challenge to keep abreast of some many changes and challenges in our industry that it’s not the lack of content that troubles us, but rather how best to explain it without boring our audience.

It is actually possible to write without really saying anything or offering anything of practical use, so let me say if you’re looking for free content, look at what you love and what your site is about and look at those sources related to your site, such as forums, discussion boards, question websites, such as Yahoo Answers and even though Google Answers is no longer accepting questions, you can still search their database of answers. There are plenty of places to get ideas for original content, hmmm, sounds almost like an oxymoron huh? Create your own content and you should be okay and when in doubt about what your visitors are looking for, just ask them by way of a short poll or survey.

Content will always be extremely important on the Internet and the search engines will always be the ultimate ruler of that content, so write with your audience in mind and as part of your editing and proofreading, do a little search engine marketing to help your content do well for search engine ranking. You don’t want to be one of those sites that rarely gets updated and the search engines deem to be of low-quality, that is, adds little or anything of relevance to Internet users.

Here’s a tip, make sure that your sites are mobile-friendly. The number of people going on the Internet using their smartphones will only increase and you don’t want to alienate your viewers. If, you’re working from home and in the market for another revenue stream, be sure to take a look at digital media such as affiliate programs that deal with Apple’s iTunes platform and Google’s Android Marketplace, because mobile apps is projected to be about $1.5 billion this year. Think about the array of tablet computers coming to market this year alone that will need apps to make them worthwhile to their users. Would it hurt to get a fraction of those visitors looking for what you’re offering?

You need to set up a blog if you haven’t already. Blogs make it easy to participate online and WordPress has made it even easier to play, work or earn money online for thousands of people with the introduction of the blogging platform, Blogs.mu.

With Blogs.mu you can create not only your own blog, but a network of blogs in which to spread the word about your industry, niche or your brand. Once you create your account using whatever “Username” which to brand or using your targeted keyword, you can log into your “Administration Account” and customize your blog any way you want. You won’t have to worry about hosting, installing, configuring or managing your new blogs setup. All of that is done in the background when you register for a Blogs.mu account.

You’re the administrator of your blog and you decide who can and can’t have a blog within your Blogs.mu network. You can bring in other people if you want to expand your network. You can moderate comments or assign the task to someone else within your network. It’s your blogging network and you can bring in people as you chose to grow your community and have an even greater footprint online, but you’re the administrator, so you get to express your vision for your network.

If, you want to brand your Blogs.mu network even further, you can put your blog under its own domain name, as long as that domain name is available. For example, you can have your own domain name like, http://www.affiliatester.com/ or something like http://www.workathomepedia.ws or whatever domain name and domain extension you fancy. There’s even instructions within your “Administrator’s Account” on how to do that.

If, you are going to use Blogs.mu Free platform and you don’t want to get your own domain name, no problem, you’ll have advertising on your blog network that helps support Blogs.mu platform. If, you don’t want ads on your Free Blogs.mu network, then you can become a supporter of Blogs.mu and the ads will be turned off, but now you can run your own advertising on your network. You can put your own ads on your blog by simply copying and pasting them where you want them.

If, you decide to grow your Blogs.mu network and you’re encouraged to do so, because if you do, you can communicate with all of your users on your network by sending them an email or you can post your messages within the admin area for others to read. You could really boost your subscribers by giving them the option to build a blog within your network. Think how easy it would be to interact with them.

There is even a system in place on Blogs.mu that you can get your users to help with the upgrades or additional services that your network wants or needs when you don’t have the money for it. Your users can elect to pay for whatever upgrades the network needs or wants. The users can do this by upgrading your Blogs.mu network to supporter level.

Okay! Maybe you’ve got a blog already, but you’re on another blog platform like Blogger, TypePad, Moveable Type or even WordPress. No problem! You can move your blog or blogs to the Blogs.mu platform anytime you like because the Blogs.mu platform supports over a dozen blogging platforms. The exporting instructions are easy to follow and there is plenty of support with forums, step-by-step videos and online support materials and a staff that is adding to the Blogs.mu platform all the time. If, you see a feature that isn’t currently on Blogs.mu, just ask for it!

If you’re concerned about your privacy and the security of your Blogs.mu network, there is really no need to worry, because your entire network is secure and you have individual blog privacy settings. Server configurations and upgrades to include service patches can all be handled by Blogs.mu if you want.

You have over 100 themes in which to further personalize your blog network when you are a supporter and many of themes are FrontPage-ready. These aren’t just your WordPress Themes, and some of themes are Front Page-ready. All the themes come with the ability to include widgets and plugins from supporters and supporter sites that will give you the features and functionality that you envision for your blog and network.

Now, you’re probably wondering, “I joined the Blogs.mu platform for free, why would I want to spend money for blogging if it’s free?” You don’t have to spend any money if you’re satisfied with the features of the Free Blogs.mu platform. The pricing of customizing and personalizing your Blogs.mu network is easy and affordable. You can get those users who join your Blogs.mu network to help pay or pay the costs associated with upgrading to the supporter level or you can upgrade when you first join.

You don’t have to upgrade to the supporter level when you join Blogs.mu, but that option is there if you want to. You can sign up for Blogs.mu for free, create and manage as many blogs as you want. If, you want to just remain on the Free Blogs.mu platform that’s fine, but if you want to be able to remove Blogs.mu ads from your blog or network, then it pays to upgrade to the supporter level. The price is right and you’ll be able to have your own ads on your blog network. When you upgrade to supporter level, you’ll be able to use your own domain name and use some of the premium plugins and get access to over 100 themes.

You have the option to become a Blogs.mu supporter for just one blog or for all of the blogs in your network. Blogs.mu Supporter Upgrade Packs are sold individually or as 10-Supporter Upgrade Package. What that means is that if you have 20 blogs or 20 blogs in your blog network, and you only purchase a 10-Pack Supporter Upgrade Pack, you have enough supporter level upgrades for 10 of your blogs. If, for any reason you want to stop paying for the supporter level of your blogs, then the supporter level features stop and your blogs revert back to the Free Blogs.mu platform.

At this point you’re probably wondering what Blogs.mu supporter level is going to cost you? Here it is, For 10 blogs, the price is $9 per month. That works out to less than $1 a month per blog. So, if you have 20 blogs and you want the supporter level features of your own domain name, 100 themes to choose from, premium widgets and plugins, then you will need 2 10-Pack Supporter Upgrades which will cost you $18 per month. You’re still paying less than $1 per month for each blog. Of course, you can get the price of your blogs to less than 5 cents per blog, but you’ll have to choose a higher available supporter level plan.

There is no contract and you can upgrade or downgrade whenever you feel the need to without the fear of losing any of your uploaded or posted content. You can even backup and export your blog to another blogging platform wherever and whenever you want or need to.

Blogs.mu doesn’t handcuff you into staying if for any reason you aren’t satisfied with its features and benefits. You don’t have to stay with Blogs.mu if you feel your vision of your blog or blog network is not meeting your expectations. They are always there to help in any way they can to see that you have a pleasant and rewarding blogging experience, however you define rewarding. If you have questions or concerns be sure to drop by their forums and there is a good chance your question or concerns have been answered by an enthusiastic staff member or active member. If, you’re ready to get started, you can sign up here.
